Abstract
During mammography-guided needle localization, a needle is inserted through crossed shade cast by crosshair guide. Occasionally, it may fail to localize the target spot of the needle with bare eye estimation, because the width of the shade is as wide as millimeters. In this research, we developed and tested a novel crosshair guide in order to provide narrow and sharp shade by advantageous aiming structure for needle localization. Additionally, we also examined a method that uses light ray instead of shade with additional extra wire. Assessment of resolution, width of shade and accuracy have shown improved performance of our device over conventional ones.
